Hi, everybody! It’s been far too long since we made an update on the site and much has happened since our last post. Those who follow us on social media haven’t missed much but now that we’re in the new year, we felt it was a good time to give a much needed update on our progress.

First off, we have a new project currently in post production! It’s a fun live-action project Co-President Zack Birlew had been thinking about doing for a while and Summer 2014 proved to be the perfect time to make it happen. It’s currently a mix of live-action, CGI, and certain other media that would give away the surprise. We’re still debating whether it is a movie per-se as it definitely could fit as a new media project. The current edit is shaping up nicely and may even turn out to be feature length by the time everything is said and done. It’s nearing picture lock and will be going into the VFX and sound design stages very soon. Also, we may put together a behind the scenes segment as well or, at the very least, a post dedicated to it on the website so stay tuned for that!

Secondly, we’re still very much hard at work on the 3D animated web series and we’re actually getting very close to casting and production. Part of the reason why we took time out to film the other movie during this past summer was because of unexpected software issues with The Foundry’s MODO, which made rigging and texturing a lot harder to get right than we had expected but, thankfully, technology found a way and by the time we finished filming in August, we were up and running again. Also during that time, we upgraded to the Kinect V2 as a motion capture tool and due to the increased accuracy and ease of use, many production aspects of the show have sped up.

As stated on our social media, 2015 is a launch year for Babs Do. We fully intend to show our talent and imagination to the world in, what we hope to be, a very big way. By doing so, we’ll be taking a very large step forward for not only ourselves as film makers but also our standing as creative artists and for the future of Babs Do Productions. So, stay tuned for a very big year with some very exciting announcements coming soon.
